At the Manu Learning Centre in Madre de Dios, scientists conduct butterfly surveys across different types of regenerative forests to study bioindicators such as air quality. The three forest types include completely cleared, partly cleared, and selectively logged. This is one of many surveys carried out by the Crees Foundation to understand how former farmland can be restored to thriving forest ecosystems in the Amazon.
